Retail is a combination of design, communication and environment centered around products. From these areas an experience is created. Retailers vary in accordance to rules and guidelines, some are strict while others change often based on trends. Others evolve organically. Some are brick and mortar, while others are only online. Some retailers make their own products and or they buy others. There's no right or wrong way but at the end of the day, communication and design play a vital role into encouraging people to buy into their brand and their values and most importantly, their products.
